A catch-all email mailbox is one that collects all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a typo. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be solved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you host a domain on our cloud web hosting platform and you’ve got a cloud hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel comes with quite a few functions, but it’s incredibly user-friendly, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires just one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section in alphabetical order and you will simply need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the respective email address. Our system will warn you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding enabled. In case you reach the decision that you do not want the feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
